ParcelProtect+ is our shipping protection service that covers your order against loss, damage, or theft during shipping. It's added to your order by default at checkout and can be removed if you prefer not to have it. All claims are handled directly by our team.
Why do you offer ParcelProtect+?
As a small family business, we're unable to absorb the growing cost of packages that are lost, stolen, or go missing during shipping. ParcelProtect+ allows us to offer fast, hassle-free resolutions when something goes wrong in transit. While shipping issues can sometimes be resolved directly with the carrier, that process is often long and tedious. ParcelProtect+ lets us take care of it for you quickly, without the runaround.
What does ParcelProtect+ cover?
ParcelProtect+ covers packages that are lost in transit, stolen after delivery (such as porch theft), or arrive visibly damaged due to shipping mishandling. If your claim is approved, we'll either replace the item or refund the item's value, including the protection fee.
What isn't covered?
ParcelProtect+ does not cover delivery delays without loss or damage, incorrect addresses provided by the customer, items damaged after delivery due to improper use, damage not caused by the shipping process, orders confirmed as delivered with no evidence of theft, or perishable, custom, or final sale items unless otherwise noted.
Can I remove ParcelProtect+ from my order?
Yes. ParcelProtect+ is added by default but is optional. You can remove it during checkout if you don't want the coverage. Keep in mind that without ParcelProtect+, you would need to work directly with the shipping carrier to resolve any issues with lost, stolen, or damaged packages, which can be a lengthy process.
How do I file a claim?
Contact us at service@modernistpantry.com with your order number and a description of what happened. Depending on the situation, you may need to provide photos of the damaged package or item, a signed statement of loss, or a police report/security footage for theft claims.
Claims must be filed within the following timeframes:

Lost in transit: After 7 days, but within 30 days of expected delivery

Marked delivered but missing: Between 5 and 30 days after delivery

Arrived damaged: Within 14 days of delivery
How long does it take to resolve a claim?
Our team handles all claims directly. Once we have the information we need, we'll review your claim and let you know the outcome. Approved claims are considered final settlement.
Can my ParcelProtect+ coverage be denied?
We reserve the right to approve, deny, or partially reimburse claims based on the evidence provided. Filing a chargeback instead of a claim may void your eligibility for a ParcelProtect+ resolution. If we identify abuse, fraud, or repeated false claims, we may limit or revoke access to the service for future orders.
